It's good that she doesnt have to go too far. It's on the same floor as the dining area. It is independent living, they provide three meals a day, and there are activities. It's a lot different from living totally by yourself in an isolated house.
It was just the rent was too high. Willow Park was really good, but they had some people that shouldn't have really been in there because they were really ill. The rooms at Willow Park are very small, but they are nice. It is more of a place for people who need assisted living. They have a little chapel in there. They invited us for dinner, the chef comes around to your table and deliver your orders, and it is always so good.

Also, she was familiar with a lot of people that my mother actually knew, so it made it feel warm, and it was as if Mother was back home again. They're all friendly and very eager to help. Michelle, the activity coordinator, is very helpful. I met with Kim, and I filled out the application. She also showed us the apartments my mother could choose from, and what was available. She was polite in asking some of the tenants to be able to see their layout inside.

Of course, we were strangers to those people, but they were very helpful and accommodating. I really liked that approach, that Kim had a very personal relationship with the community of people. My mother's apartment is like an alcove studio. They have a balcony, so Mother is able to sit outside. Of course, I like the fact that Mother could go three times a day to get a full meal sit down dining.

They interacted well with the residents as they were walking through the area. The one thing I like most is that they provide a linen service and cleaning services. That's something I have a problem with is being able to run a vacuum cleaner.

I think she is a little more comfortable with assisted living. There was nothing wrong with the facility. The food wasn't very good, but they just had a new chef that day. Willow Park was wonderful, it was great. It's full, and they only had a couple of vacancies.
This was class act taking advantage of a resident! Management seemed like they have no idea how to handle any situations. Staff seemed as if they had just “checked out.” The overall environment felt tense and stressful. I’m so glad we’re not part of that place anymore.
Seniors in private rooms typically pay $8,152. I was able to visit Columbia Healthcare Center, and it is an ordinary facility. It is located in a nice area, but it is just mediocre. For your healthcare needs, Deaconess Hospital sits just five miles away.

They have four or five different choices at every meal. You could choose what you wanted, and the food was very good. They had like a walking race, and they would encourage you to walk down the hall with your walker and come back and whoever made it first for whatever they got.
